February 16, 2010 – 11:26 pmA symbolic slap in the face to the mayor from one previously perceived to be of his own kind.
I’m choosing to copy, paste, and save my comments into Wordpad. I’ll read them tomorrow after my anger subsides and then determine whether or not to share my thoughts.
I’ve matured into a real wuss.
Update: Perkins the Puppetmaster gets the desired front page results. Predictably, the N&R loves the “let’s make the mayor look bad” stories.

Tony if you keep on your future run at the White House may have to begin in another county.

But the main question Roger…would I still have your vote?

As Rooster Cogburn said to ranger LaBoeuf of young Mattie Ross:
By God, you remind me of me.

I’ve put an APB out for you fec. Where the heck are you located now? One visit to your old site froze my computer and stated a trojan was trying to enter. Can you link me up? I’ve missed you.

I’m back. I got hacked, but it’s fixed. I’m not on We101 until I’m certain it’s safe.

Tony I am assuming we are discussing the media whore Danny Thompson, or known inside the political loop as “John Edwards”. It is a shame that we put so much energy into supporting this flip flopper. What frightens me is his deep beliefs that he is the only Republican on council and the only person on council who is a fiscal conservative. I never knew that caving for votes and seeking public recognition counts for being a conservative.
His plans to run for mayor has consumed his brain into believing he can do better than most on council, including Mayor Knight, which is ironic since he publicly supported all republican candidates while running and reaching into pockets of the same people who supported them.
His actions last night during council session were an embarrassment to our Mayor and will drive Mayor Knight’s opposition into a feeding frenzy. I wonder if Jim Kee is smiling today knowing that Danny can be his bitch. It is only a matter of time before Ms. Smalls jumps into the fray. After all, take his political posturing with Skip over the hotel. Danny should know that playing with fire will burn.
The current council under Mayor Knight’s leadership could achieve great things for this city and over time I predicted that all on council will see it that way. Now I wonder if they will view support from a conservative council member moving away will cause them all to follow?
I’ve put much political support behind Danny during the election, as did most of the Republican Party. However, the difference now is that I cannot support him further and will make it clear to all that I do not.

Has anyone stopped to think that just maybe (and I truly dont know) that Thompson, Vaughn and others actually recieved a great deal of feedback from the citizenry? Would not they then simply be doing their job by fullfilling the will of the people? Just askin.
I think the Mayor’s plan should have at least been given three months to succeed or fail on it’s own. I see the two plans as differant not wrong or bad. Just differant.
We all know how GSO loves change.

Michael/Tony, the party proud at work - I’m being sarcastic.
I hope this sheds light on the fact that party affiliation doesn’t determine the best council candidate.

Perkins probably gets in his best text messaging early in the meetings where he can feign concern during the comments session. Waiting until later probably forces him to pay attention if his texting cronies are already in bed.
And yes Tony you’d have my vote still if you answer correctly to this question….Coble or Yow?
By Roger Greene on Feb 17, 2010
Maybe not Ryan, but Flip Flopping does.
By Michael Picarelli on Feb 18, 2010
Danny wants to be mayor, Robbie wants Coble’s place, Zack wants Robbie’s spot (unofficial mayor). The political aspirations are clear. They all have that political charisma. But are they seeking fame or power?
By Bob on Feb 18, 2010
Ryan, party affiliation should point to your core beliefs. Either you want less government and believe in personal responsibility or you prefer more government involvement in your life. And yes Ryan, I am very proud of my party affiliation.
Roger, I’m glad I can avoid that “gotcha” question. As a member of the Executive Board of the local GOP I am expected to remain neutral through the primary. How’s that for dodging?
Billy called me last night and we spoke for about a half hour about his decision. I plan to post later about that conversation.

Mick, not a conspiracy in the works here, just a back stabbing.
It was well known how Vaughan was going to vote but the mayor had a 5-4 in favor of his decision on speakers from the floor. That’s why it hasn’t been brought up until now.
My unconfirmed theory…Perkins gets the naive Thompson to change his vote. You could barely see the puppet strings as he gets Kee to make the motion. Danny flips and the mayor is stabbed. Perkins gets his front page story from the lefty local daily putting the mayor in his place. Perkins only hope for active input on this council is chaos. So far his political genius has continued. I hope he writes a book someday explaining how you can succeed in politics without party support of your registered affiliation. Simply succeed by selling your soul. I’m still trying not to like the guy.

So you dont think DT received heavy email/call complaints about the time switch? You think he simply did as told? I dont know, dude.
Maybe. Time will tell no doubt.
So far I simply chalk this one up to the law of unintended consequences. Mayor K underestimated the ruckus a change would make. Did some make mountains out of mole hills…. you betcha.
Council should have given it 3 months. Then voted.
Seen Spag’s Blog yet this AM? You probably already knew you insider you.
